| Our Mission Statement and Background |
Young Life Ski Mission exists to provide enjoyable, affordable and professional water ski training and instruction programs for various groups, in order that personal development, Christian outreach and fellowship may be undertaken to those within them and within the Ski Mission teams.
Background to Young Life Ski Mission
Young Life Ski Mission started about seven years ago when a number of like minded water skiing enthusiasts decided to share their talents by providing a meaningful water skiing experience for youth groups and other youth orientated organisations. The initial intent of this group was to provide an activity whereby the leader of a youth group does not need to be concerned with organising an enjoyable activity and can spend time interacting with the members of the youth group. This initial intent is still very much present and has evolved to a much greater degree in active encouragement of personal development and confidence to the youth through the teaching of water ski skills.
In 1997, this group of water skiing enthusiasts agreed to become an arm of Amicus Young Life Australia Inc., a Christian organisation interested in providing many forms of interesting activity to young persons in a caring, safe and challenging manner.
Young Life Ski Mission is an arm of Amicus Young Life Australia Inc.and retains autonomy in organisation and running of ski missions, however operates at all times within agreed operational requirements in addition to satisfying the requirements of Amicus Young Life Australia Inc.
All personnel involved with Young Life Ski Mission are members of Amicus Young Life Australia Inc. and have been accepted by Young life Australia as fit and proper persons for mission activity. Young Life Ski Mission is a non-profit organisation.
Over the last number of years, Young Life Ski Mission would have been involved with some 1,500 persons per year in the activities of water ski training, social events and been seen by many thousands more during such activities. Currently there are about 30 persons involved with Young Life Ski Mission (all volunteer) working with two ski boats for almost all weekends (and some weekdays) between late September and April each year. All instructors are qualified and certified as Level 1 Water-Ski Coach Supervisors in accordance with the requirements of the New South Wales Water Ski Association and the National Coaching Council of Australia. The majority of volunteer personnel are currently certified with First Aid and CPR qualifications.
All of the persons involved give their time, talent and energy freely to Young Life Ski Mission. All equipment, including ski boats, water skis, buoyancy vests and advertising materials, have been purchased by those volunteers involved with the organisation and donated to Young Life Ski Mission.

Activities of Young Life Ski Mission are available to all groups and are specifically orientated to youth groups typically between ages 12 and 18 but is available to all. Ski Mission operates primarily in the region of Sydney, Australia with most activities run at Windsor (about 50 km to the North West of Sydney. Other venues for Ski Mission include Penrith, Mid North Coast of NSW, Canberra and other sites within New South Wales and even into Queensland and Victoria as needed.

Activities of Young Life Ski Mission are available to all groups and are specifically orientated to Scripture Union Family Missions, Church and Christian Youth Groups, and other group bookings. Cost is typically $15 per person, however would vary according to the size and location of the activity.
